OFSTED Inspection Report
Follow up inspection report by Michael Kell.
Michael Kell is an independent educational consultant, trainer, Ofsted inspector and School Improvement Partner. In December 2007, Mr Kell undertook an inspection of The Shires in which the brief was to assess the extent to which The Shires had addressed the issues raised by the Ofsted team in May 2006.

Because we are a children's home the CSCI report is only available to people who have a genuine and legitimate interest. This will usually be placing authorities, current or prospective parents, or social care and educational professionals.

However, the CSCI inspection report for May 2006 states:
"Outcomes for young people who live at the home are good. A caring, professional and highly-supported care team support the young people. The inspector found the staff to be committed and enthusiastic, supported by an experienced and dedicated management team."
Ofsted is now responsible for the inspections of and reports on both schools and children's homes. The Shires children's home was the subject of a drop in inspection in September 2007.
