Accommodation and facilities

The staff facilities are good. The building is set in very pleasant grounds in a rural location with plenty of free car parking. The journey to work is easy, straight along the A1.

The large staff room is divided into two parts- one area with plenty of locker space to store valuables, a staff toilet and wash basin; the other providing a comfortable staff dining room.

The dining room is well equipped and leads onto a pleasant patio area where staff can enjoy meals outside when weather permits. Staff are provided with a freshly cooked hot meal a day, a full salad bar and tea as well as free tea, coffee and snacks throughout the day.

If staff need to sleep in there is an en suite bedroom located on the top floor equipped with TV, DVD player and kitchenette. There is also a shared bathroom if staff need to get cleaned up during or at the end of the day. All staff have their own Shires email address and have access to computers for personal use during break periods.

What the staff say...

The staff are well looked after at The Shires as we get free meals, and a travel allowance if we are working anti-social hours. We often meet up outside work and organise trips and excursions.
